You left or right handed?
Generally, the right brain (left-handed people) is more holistic and creative, while the left brain (right-handed people) is more analytical/mathematical.

I'm right handed. I think it shows in my interfaces because I'm not particularly creative, but have a decent eye for detail (for the few moments that I've been involved in gui design).

Which is wierd - I'm right handed, but I'm not mathematical. Maybe analytical though. And I'm creative as well.

Your second statement is also true - I rely on detail. But like PIXEL detail.

Hahaha, i was left handed when i was a little kid, but my nanny was weird, she thought that being left handed was bad, and usually said to me that i have to do stuff with my right hand, and when i learn to write she hold my left hand and forced me to write with my right hand, and then to draw, paint, etc . My mother knew that and fired her, but now i am right handed because that damn crazy woman XD

I am left handed and not creative.
I was ambidextrous for a little while.
Now what does that have to do with Design/Software discussion? Smile

It looks like something coming from another discussion. Lewa mentioned the "creative slump".

Some of us interfacers are more focused on details, some are more creative with interface design itself. I was wondering how much our left/right-handedness affected our style of design.

Slightly off-forum? Maybe. Good information regardless? Possibly.

@Red: Haha, I actually said that after I had the idea to post this topic. Figured someone would catch that.

Interesting discussion.
I'm right handed, and I wouldn't call myself creative. Does that mean I'll be more creative if I start using my left hand from now on?

Yes I do beleive so. Seems to be working for me! I just do little finger/hand exercises (randomly wave my fingers) and it feels like it's stimulating my right brain [/nerd]

Make sure to use that palm! Haha. Burshing your teeth, and if you play guitar or something, switching hands.

Hahah, lewa. So as you wave your left hand, you can feel just the right side of your brain pulsating? Cheeky

Thats a cool idea though. I'll start doing some things I can with my left hand. Obviously I wont see any results instantly, but overtime I bet I could gain a brain cell or two.

P.S - I'd say this is the corrent board. Our brain has every bit to do with Design, and we are discussing it. Smile

I had a doodle period where I made lots of nice shapes, it doesn't seem to want to come back to me though...
